Case study

Jawad Farooq Naik

A creative technologist's site has to prove the claim, not state it. Jawad's opens on a working split-flap board that greets you in twelve languages, then shows the live sites he has built as a wall you can click into. Behind it: a portfolio of 54 projects, a blog of 25, and a migration that kept every old link alive.

jnaikcreates.solutions is the personal site of Jawad Farooq Naik, Pinn.Media's founder and creative director: a portfolio and CV, and the front door for the freelance and consulting work he takes on himself.

Before

The site was WordPress. A short-lived transition build in late September 2026 moved the content into React and then Next.js; the current site picked up from there on 25 September.

What we did

A static Next.js site, every page prerendered, on Vercel: Home, Journey, Portfolio with 54 project pages, Services, Blog with 25 posts and topic pages, Contact, Privacy and Terms.

Interaction with a point. The split-flap board, the drifting wall of live sites, a draggable photo pile, a floating dock for navigation and a small keyword-matched assistant ("Ask Jawad") that answers common questions from the site's own copy.

A migration that kept its search history. Permanent redirects for every old WordPress post, feed, category, image upload and sitemap URL, so links and rankings built over years carried over.

Search and privacy done properly. Structured data for the person, his services and every article, generated share images for every page type, an RSS feed, an llms.txt, IndexNow pings on publish, analytics that only load after consent (and respect Global Privacy Control), and a strict content security policy.

Outcome

WordPress to a live static site in about nine days, with no broken links: 93 URLs in the sitemap, every old address redirected, every page served as fast static HTML. The portfolio pattern built here became the model for Pinn.Media's own Work section.

Interactive

Jawad Farooq Naik, the split-flap board

A twenty-three column split-flap board that greets visitors in twelve languages and scripts, introduces him, cycles his roles, and flips into small pictures between messages.

The board says hello in twelve languages, Urdu and Hindi included with their scripts handled properly, then "I am Jawad Farooq Naik", then seven roles (designer, developer, technologist and the rest), then "Based in Texas, USA / Available worldwide". Between messages the flaps flip into box-drawing pictures: a light bulb, a code bracket, a globe. It is the site's argument made physical: someone who designs and engineers, in one object.

The board mid-flip: hello in another language, the name, a role, the location.
Split-flap board on a phone
The same board on a phone, every flap still mechanical.

Web

Jawad Farooq Naik, portfolio, blog and journey

A portfolio that leads with live work, a searchable archive of 54 projects, a blog with topic pages and a feed, and a journey page that reads like a photo album.

Portfolio opens with "Work that's live and working" and a tilted wall of seven live client sites drifting in opposite directions, each tile a link. Below it, every project is searchable and filterable by discipline, with the filter in the URL so a view can be shared. Forty-one of the projects were brought in from Behance as structured case studies; thirteen are client sites written up by hand.

Blog, "Notes from the workbench", has search, topic pages, a featured post, reading progress, share links and an RSS feed, with most writing aimed at home care agencies and Dallas-area businesses.

Journey is the CV as a story: a draggable pile of photographs, a timeline, exhibitions and interviews. Services sets out seven groups of work on one page.

The pattern from this portfolio, one project per card with discipline tags, search and a wall of live sites, is the one Pinn.Media's own Work section now uses.

Blog: Notes from the workbench, with search and topic chips
"Notes from the workbench." Search, topics and a featured post over 25 articles.
Journey: A life in snapshots, a pile of photographs
Journey: a CV told as a pile of photographs you can drag.
Services: Design, code and everything in between
Seven groups of services on one page, each with what it includes.

One team, from identity to intelligence.

Brand, software, AI, and growth from a single team, not separate vendors. That is why the positioning, the copy, the site and the data model on this project agree with each other.
